Welcome to the Future.

Captain's Log, stardate 08.13.10. After a plethora of circumstance and a few "thumbs up" from grounded opinions, My Land Mind has cleared its lungs, taking its first breath in the medium called "Blogging".

First question: What is a blog, anyway?

"BLLLOOOOOOOOOOG."

My first mental image when introduced to the term "BLOG". I figured "blogging" was likely used to identify a post-meal noise coming from the depths of this creature's belly. I would imagine his residence would look something like this:

Well, I was close, but:

According to Wikipedia, a blog is "a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video" and usually "provide commentary on a particular subject." Moving forward, it is added that "an interactive format is an important part of many blogs."

So here's my pitch (Let's hear it for analogies):

If the internet was a body of water, and we were taking up real estate (like islands, rocks, shipwreck debris, etc), I'd like to think I'm practicing my Dead Man's Float. Bumping into buoys of expression, opinion, and free thought, I'd say, "What's up?"

So here we are, and here I sit, hoping to do just that.

Second question: What are you selling?

I'm just adding my log to the fire.

And thirdly: So what's your story? Make it short.

"It looks good, but true size comparisons are impossible."
